Well it's the 4th of July the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And we should honor the signers of this wonderful document. But we should also honor others on the 4th. How about Louis Lassen of Louis' Lunch in New Haven Conn. who in 1900 placed a beef patty in between two slices of bread or Lionel C. Sternberger of Pasadena Calf. in the 1920's placed a slice of cheese on top of a beef patty. Or how about Johann Georghehner, a 17th century butcher from the Bavarian city of Coburg who is said to have invented the "dachshund" or "little-dog" sausage and brought it to Frankfurt. There are thousands of people to thank for the 4th of July celebration. Let's not forget Adam Firecracker or Billy Parade or Johnathan Fireworks and Sally Charcoal. And lastly how about Joe six pack in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia for giving us that cool and refreshing beer. Happy 4th everyone.
