Shaken and Not Stirred

Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet shaken and not stirred please. It's not James Bond it's me and that's what I ordered at Shepherds Pie a local restaurant In my home town,Rockport Maine. It was my 34 wedding anniversary. And would you believe we have never had a fight.....yea right. Well anyway, we were joined by our friends Dorrie and Tom from nearby Owls Head. The meal was great and the drinks were flowing like flowing drinks.

After the meal we all decided to go back to our house for a night cap, like I needed any more drinks, and extend the evening.

In conversation, I stated that my spin class on Wednesday I had played a game with the riders and ask them to name the singers who music I was playing. And what had happened, in that only two people could come up with a couple of the answers. So I grabbed my computer, got on Itunes and asked our guess if they could name the singers from the workout. And they got a few but not a lot. They happen to be 30 years younger than your pal so it was understandable that they did not get the Blues Image singing "Ride Captain Ride". But what happen next was I just kept going with different songs and asking everyone to tell me who sang the song. I have 9104 songs on Itunes so there was a lot to choose from.

The song game soon became men against women teams to see could name the most artist or group. This back and forth went on till about 2 in the morning with beer and a couple shots of tequila fanning the flames. The last straw was when I played a Chopin piece and everyone got it, go figure, Chopin.

Anyway it was a good night with good friend. And by the way the men won the music contest hands down.

Ride Captain ride. Oh man, I wouldn't have got that one--though I know the tune. Congrats man, and get that musicology degree of yours framed!
