The Answer is " I Don't know".

Yesterday I could not get on the net. Why? I don't know. I called my cable company and within 45 minutes of questioning and me pushing many buttons the answer from the expert was "I don't know what's wrong". But this morning it is working again and I don't know why. Did the cable company send someone to my home ,who in the dark of night broke in, repaired the computer and left without leaving a sign that he or she was there. Well that seems like the logical answer and I will not go any further in my quest to find out. But I am going out and buying a bear trap for my next outage. So sleep tight cable repair person.

I am doing some part time computer work. Just enough to tell people I am working, but not so much that it interrupts my leisure activities – I am retired you know.

The school I work for has been coming to me to fix computer problems, the most frequent of which is “I can’t get on the internet”. I usually do some trouble shooting and suggest a strategy to solve the problem.

A few weeks ago I had a message on my answering machine from a secretary at the school asking me to call her because she could not access her email account (or the internet).

When I called her back, she said the problem was solved because she asked herself “What Would Jack Do”. . . . So she checked with others in her office and when she found out they had no problems, she rebooted her machine.

Problem was solved! (God I’m Good!)

As far as your problem, if you still have cable TV, reboot you computer and if that doesn’t work, reboot your modem.

If you still have no service, call the cable company and check the bear trap.
