My life on the couch started off rather like any other day. Spin class on Saturday morning, nothing out of the ordinary. The class went great, I even broke my own personal record of 166 heart beat rate. So I was running on all cylinders. But as soon as I got home, climbed out of my truck, I started to shiver. And so it began. Into the house and on with the sweatshirt, on with the wool socks, and slip into my Simpson flees PJ bottoms(7 dollars at TJ Maxx). Head for the couch grab the pillow, grab the, blanket and start to build your nest, or command post if you will, which will be your home for the next couple of days.
Now I start to pack myself into my cocoon blanket, like a butterfly larva. I am now starting to warm up. In about 5 minutes, I am hotter than a pot of neck bones. And then five minutes later I am colder than a well digger's ass before global warming. I finally get to sleep for a hour or two, wake up and naturally reach for the TV remote, still feeling like crap. I make the rounds, all 150 channels, get disgusted and stop on HGTV. I now know how to punch up my bathroom with color. Back to sleep.
One hour later my wife is sticking a temperature probe into my ear, and is saying I have a temperature of 300 degrees. I said either call the doctor or flip me over and base me with butter. Turns out she had not read the instructions correctly, I did have a fever but it was not that bad. She put down the phone and dropped the turkey baster.
Most of the rest of the day I just slept and munched on dry crackers and drank warm Coke. Yum, I get hungry now just thinking about that meal. Any who I did not die that night. I forgot to say that I added another pillow and a blanket to my nest. It will be a small city soon.

Dear Willie,
I'm so sorry you are still down and out with the flu. I am feeling so desperate and depressed. My whole world has fallen to pieces since last week. I feel like I have moved to a new state and am teaching a whole new group of people because my classes contain only interlopers. No regulars AGAIN last night and the class was full. Geez Louise Willie, you started an epidemic! You knocked off all your best buddies... but Thank God your creepy little germs didn't didn't get to me.
So last night, I decided to teach off my own bike because I didn't want to have another standing situation like last week. I didn't like it, by the way, because my ride wasn't smooth. So that probably won't be happening again. We are stuck with 13 bikes and a wait list- until we get the 6 new ones.
Take it easy Willie, Please be good to your dear wife. I'm sure she's going crazy having you home whining 24/7. Maybe I'll see you next week?
Amy
A whole class of interlopers sounds like hell. I am back I took a class this morning and, Dede and Wendy were there as well. Mary could be on her yearly vacation and I think that Heidi is sick.
Hey Willie....
I have a dreaded disease too so thanks alot. I have been running on about 1 cylinder since last week. I've been in bed more than out of bed...but seem to be slowly on the road to recovery. I am hoping to make Friday's class but I'll have to see. I haven't worked out since last Wednesday and I feel like s#%! about that. I am leaving on Saturday for my 2 week get away so a spin class would be great right about now. So hope to see you then but if I can't make it please save me a bike for Monday the 23rd. I fly back on Sunday the 22nd so I won't have time to sign up. By the way....Basketball will be over then so I will be able to start coming Tuesday nites...so be a pal...I have a bunch of credits for missed classes at the desk...sign me up for all the classes the week of the 23rd and I will bring you a nice big present from the Bahamas. I really will this time....
your sickly pal, Mary
Yeah, I've been out sick, too...got the flu over the weekend and kept running on again/off again fever with all the accompanying aches and pains...I can't wait to leave for Florida on Friday the 13th for a week's vacation (but leaving on a date like Fri. the 13th can't mean great things, can it?!!) Anyway, sorry, Amy, that we regulars have been letting you down with our absenteeism. And, Willie, those "creepy little germs" you've been handing out to Mary and I better be banished by the time we each return from our vacations!! Being sick certainly sucks...
