Hospital/Home I Choose Home

Well I am back home and feeling good. The one thing about having these medical problem is that when it is all over there is a heighten awareness of your own body. I am constantly monitoring every function for something that is feeling just not right. But this has happen to me before and it soon dissipates over time.

My home coming was met Monday with about 6 inches of snow and a reintroduction to my snow blower.....Ah it's good to be home.

While I was in my bed at the hospital, I want to say that the level of care by the staff at Penobscot Bay Medical Center. was the best. My only comparison is the care you get is in New Jersey, where I have spent most of my life. Hospital care in N.J. was impersonal, rushed, the staff seemed pissed off all of the time. It is just the opposite in Maine in my personal experience, and I am becoming a expert as of late. But WTF, I am back home now and the my world is good.

The one problem I have in being in the hospital is boredom. And because you are not getting to much exercises lying in bed, it's hard, for me anyway, to fall asleep. My last night for instance. It's 12 midnight, all I can think about is how uncomfortable my bed is,  my head is pounding from watching the TV that is near the ceiling. I have to pee every 10 minutes,.my IV hurts and I've got the jimmy legs. My pillow case keeps sliding off of my plastic coated pillow. I change position in the bed every 2 minutes and that causes my covers to become tangled up. And all I can think about is screaming.

"SOMEONE PLEASE COME INTO MY ROOM AND PLUNGE A GIANT BUTCHERS KNIFE INTO MY CHEST!"

Just then a nurse comes into my room and wants to check my vitals, as they say.

"Mr Yoos you have, what we call in the business the perfect blood pressure."

Ahhhh, all is well with the world and I am finally at peace.
