Words of Wisdom
In my personal opinion, the list of Republican presidential candidates are a very scary group. I think that President Obama is not doing a great job and he could kick it up a notch and take charge and finally do something. But a lease he seems to be reasonable and a adult.
Here are some quotes from the republican candidates.
Michele Bachmann......"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas." -Rep. Michelle Bachmann, April, 2009
Herman Cain.......At a rally last Thursday, speaking about the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, Cain appeared concerned about the rights afforded us by the Constitution, saying the cultural center was “an infringement and an abuse of our freedom of religion.
Newt Gingrich......"The American people believe English should be the official language of the government....We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto,"
Jon Huntsman........Can't find anything stupid he said.
Ron Paul...........Reporting on gang crime in Los Angeles, Paul commented: "If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be."
"Given the inefficiencies of what DC laughingly calls the criminal justice system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."
Tim Pawlenty......."We can start by what I call the Google test."
By which he means if you can Google a service yourself on the Internet, government doesn't need to provide it. There's is no point in fact-checking that -- it's too clever. So last night comedian Stephen Colbert simply embraced Pawlenty's idea, took out a computer, and discovered you could completely eliminate our most expensive entitlement: MEDICARE:
"Seniors, if you're feeling chest pain, go to WebMD, self diagnose your arrhythmia, search some message boards for the right pharmaceutical by friending cardiac patients on facebook, create a fake gmail account to buy black market Plavix from Canada."
Mitt Romney ........I'm happy to learn that after I speak you're going to hear from Ann Coulter. That's a good thing. I think it's important to get the views of moderates." --right before Coulter called John Edwards a "faggot"
Rick Santorum......To numerous to list.

In a previous comment a few posts back I said that Repubs have got it locked up if they chose Pawlenty. But I meant to say Huntsman (Pawlenty?--what?!). Huntsman could win the whole thing rather easily if Repukes weren't such a bunch of Taliban. But Huntsman worked for Obama, so he's considered tarnished. Plus he's from Utah and (I think) a Mormon, so Evangelicals dont like him.
The rest of that cast was B-list to the extreme. Romney and Perry remind me of slick Willie, w/out the Rhodes scholar intellect. Ron Paul's got ideas, but he's a backroom policy-maker. Not enough personality to inspire or provide confidence in a crisis.
Still 15 months to go--which I dont need to tell you is an eternity. Plenty of time for things to turn around. Today markets are up, gas prices down, and Bin Laden still dead. So Obama can work off that. But I still maintain that 8-10% unemployment is here to stay. We just don't need people anymore! They're obsolete.
Think I'm done following politics for awhile--that is, 'til Perry enters a debate. That should be hilarious watching him and Bachmann cut each other down.
I think it's funny that Romney tried to portray Coulter as a moderate.
I agree with Lodo about Huntsman. He's the only one worth anything in the whole bunch.
