Look out Pennsylvania Here I Come

Well it's off to Pennsylvania to attend a friends daughters wedding. It will be a short trip leaving today and coming back on Sunday. There is nothing better, in your pals world, than driving for 10 hours, It has got to be right up there, for me, with my lung operation. But being in Pennsylvania does have it advantages. I intend on picking up a bucket of coal and how could I leave the Keystone state and not travel on the first high-speed multi-lane highway, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, or have a banana split which was first invented in Pennsy. And what would a visit to the Keystone state without seeing a Ruffed Grouse, the state bird. And best of all the wedding is in the town of Kennett Square, which is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World. Yahoo for fungus. All and all it should be a good trip. But the one thing I will truly miss is all 35 people who tune in every day to read my crap filled posts. You can't see it but there is a tear running down my cheek right now. And as our Amish friends would say “Go out and tie the dog loose and don’t forget to outen the light.”

The town of Kennett Square!

Wow.

Please don't miss the Mushroom Museum, home of the annual Mushroom Festival http://www.mushroomfestival.org/

I just hope your heart can stand the excitement!

This is a review of the Museum:
Throughout the world museums have been devoted to such a wide variety of subjects, it would be difficult to list. It is perhaps one of the greatest characteristics of people that they can develop a passion for seemingly everyday objects.

One of these is the mushroom.

Philadelphia produces more mushrooms than any other state, and Kennett Square has the distinction of being the Mushroom Capital of the World. The town provides about 35% of the entire mushroom crop of the United States -- or about 13% of the mushrooms grown commercially in the whole world!

Set your GPS get to Kennett Square and take the route through lovely and historic downtown Edison.

The farmer's market is open on Sunday behind the Jade Dynasty Chinese Restaurant. There you can find some of the best Jersey tomatoes and fresh local corn.

Also not far away is Chez Cwalinski (aka The Polish Paradise) that offers fine (and cheap) food and libations. In case you can't find it, just dial up Chez Cwalinski and they'll come and rescue you.

Enjoy the traffic on the way, and don't forget to give a wave to all the motorists going 20mph under the speed limit!

Enjoy your trip. Maybe next time you can schedule a 10 hour drive with a lung operation at the end of it!

That would be living.
