Yesterday the Hammer, AKA ERSG, was in a happy mood and that means you get a tough workout. And we did get a very tough workout and that's what I love about her class. One of the traits that I love about the Hammer is that, she could care less if her workouts takes you to the edge of your life. That is how I feel most of the time with her workouts. And I take most of the responsibility for my near death experience, because I am on board with every command she shouts out. My heart rate may be through the roof and my legs are screaming, but she will say add more tension and what do I do, add more tension. When she barks out increase your speed even though I am gasping for breath, I pick it up. In the words of Steve Miller, " You've got me hypnotised." I just can't stop. Oh well that's OK you have to die of something, why not a heart attack in spin class. A nice way to go, lying face down on the floor,foot caught in the bike peddles, your bowels letting go in your bike pants, surrounded by your peeps, can it get any better, I don't think so.
On a lighter note, yesterday was the introduction of the future of fashion in spin class, with the introduction of the Willie's World tee shirt. The shirt was the creation of our gal Wonder, AKA Pregnant Carrie. It was a instant hit as I walked in the door wearing the shirt. If you want to see what the shirt looks like I suggest checking out the NY Times Sunday fashion page for a couple of weeks, as I am sure it will be popping up on some celebrity on the street in the future.
This has nothing to do with spin class but I thought this was really clever. Enjoy.

I need to make one correction on your description of yesterday's class. What you perceived as "happiness" was actually the remnants of the teenager induced parental terror that I experienced over the weekend. It's a good thing I teach first thing every Monday because otherwise I would have nothing to motivate me to live after these episodic weekends. Thanks to spin class and Willie's World I still walk the face of the earth.
Wonder makes awesome shirts and tanks! We should do a photo shot of all of us regulars sporting her line.
