Well the election is over and I am just now climbing down from my chair and removing the rope from around my neck. The American people have spoken and what they want is elected officials who don't seem, from what I have seen anyway, any ideas about what to do about anything. The big question during the election seemed to be, what are your going to do about the economy. And the lock step answer was "Cut discretionary spending."
"Well what are you going to cut, defence spending?
"No."
"Medicare?"
"No."
Social security?"
"No."
"Okay, then what are you going to cut?"
"Discretionary spending."
Well any how, it will be interesting to see how these new people will do and what they will do. I was a little bummed out by some of the progressives that lost, but then I thought, how are these new people going to bring the economy back. I don't think they have any idea. And another thing, who do they all think was behind the tea party agenda, just your average Joe. I could see that the people pushing their agenda were people like Steve Forbes, Dick Armey and the the Koch brothers, just your average Joe's, with no agenda at all.
Do I sound a little bitter, hell yea. If I could see people being manipulated, why couldn't they. Just look at the election in Florida. Rick Scott was elected governor despite being a former health-care CEO who was forced to resign amid a scandal over Medicare billing practices in 1997, and he barely met the seven-year Florida residency requirement to run. This from a electorate who are mostly medicare participants. One thing I will say about the right, that you would have to be caught killing someone on the late new before you could not be elected for office.
Oh well I'll just keep on hanging on and hope for the best. Maybe the tea party will surprise me and work for the good for all of us. Let's hope.
Just a foot note, these are the many things that the evil President Obama and his evil henchmen have done for all of us. Let see what this new group will do.
1.Averting a depression.
2.Sparking a recovery.
3.Saving Detroit.
4.Reforming health care.
5.Cutting corporate welfare.
6.Restoring America's reputation in the world.
7.Protecting consumers.
8.Launching a clean-energy legislation.

Its a Republican country Willie. Always has been and...if they can come back so fast, always will be.
And the Tea Party stuff? Ugh!
But I'm proud to say that while the Tea Party stuff may fly in the sticks, here in NYC; they only got 20%. God I'm glad to live here.
It amazes me that so many people are so gullible.
They're just scared. And sadly...mean-spirited.
2 years of successfully advancing progressive policies has been worth 4 years of simply giving the GOP everything it wants. A split government will keep everyone honest.
