Snow and Hanukkah in New Jersey

Well it has happen again, winter has come to Maine. I thought it was not going to snow this year but I was wrong again. Yesterday I had to bring out the old snow blower and crank it up. It snowed yesterday about four inch's and it had to be taken care of my your pal. And it was like I was snow blowing all summer I never skipped a beat. And with my new yellow rubber pants I was also a fashion plate.

Sunday we returned from New Jersey where we invited to our friends home for a Hanukkah celebration. They were our neighbors for over twenty years and they, and their children our part of our family. It was nice to see everyone again and the food, for get about it. My friend Jack must have made over four thousand potato pancakes. This guy worked all day making a great meal.

Jacks 3 grandchildren were in attendance and what a lot a energy. I was exhausted just watching them run around. I realized that I could not handle taking care of a small child. If I had to take care of a small child I would need a chair and a couple of rolls of duck tape to make lit through the experience. These kids were really good, but the non stop energy, wow. Any who, it was a great day with good friends and good food, what could you ever ask for.

Once again, I noticed the difference in the way people interact in Maine from the way they do in New Jersey, it is very different. Take driving here in Maine the norm is speed limit or lower on the highways. Driving in New Jersey it's every man for themselves. Very aggressive and no waving at you, the only wave you get is the single finger salute. And like I've said before, if you make eye contact with people here in Maine they say hello to you. In New Jersey there is no eye contact at all. They are two different worlds. They are good people, they just roll differently. Oh well it's good to be back home even if I have to move a little snow around.
